I am sorry to report that I experience great difficulty in getting rid of the subsidiary coins and to gain time for so doing I have directed an account to be opened if possible with Banks, enabling the Treasurer to draw in dollars whatever may be successful from time to time, interest being exigible for the amount in actual use by the Colony.
4. Saving coined all the dollars in store into subsidiary coins with a view to making use of the Mint, I require someone to realise their value, and am surprised at the reluctance exhibited to receive them. Even the Commissariat has declined to take at their nominal value more than 3,500 in the subsidiary coins recently received.
